Only when the audience has access to your photos you have the chance of selling those photos. If they do not have access how come you sell them although you have it online? Even though you have high quality images it is not possible to sell them if they are not accessible. The potential buyers in a website search for the images using certain keywords. If your photograph is listed for that keyword then there is a chance for sale of that photo.

You should know the right keywords for which you can target your pictures. You can’t use some random words as keywords for your photograph. Making use of the right word will help your image to pop-up when a buyer searches for that keyword.

Keywords

To get your pictures found by search, keywords are used. Mapping your pictures to the right keywords is the key to sale of your picture in websites. Most of the websites give you certain characters of text to attach to your pictures. Use that to key in the right keywords for your pictures. Make sure that you are using keywords that are relevant to your picture. Otherwise that would make the approval of your picture, a slow process and it would be hard to find your picture. Chances are there for rejection if you are not using the right keywords.

Instinct

It is not that hard to find the right keywords for your picture. All you have to do is to think like an average person. Imagine the words that would be used by an average person to find your picture. Most of the searches are using simple words only. The words that come to your mind first when you think of your picture would be the words that others would search more often for that picture. Use your instinct to get the right keywords for that photograph you want to publish in the websites. This will bring in the potential buyers for your photos.

Elements

Make note of the elements in your photograph and use it as the keywords. In a picture of the beach you can use ‘beach’ as the primary keyword and the words of the other elements as the secondary keywords for that photograph. The biggest element in your photo should be the primary keyword for that photo after which you can consider the background. You can also simply specify the contents in that photograph too.
